My name is Ivan,

I am using the roland gx-24 to cut the vinyl for my t-hirts. I am having a problem with my cutstudio. Whenever i go to cutting setup and then select get from machine and then press OK the program hangs. What can be the problem here ?? I am really stuck.

Does your computer have enough memory to run the programs, that would be my guess,

Yes indeed, i have 1.5GB memory.
BUt i will look into it. Maybe a lot of resident programs consume all the memory.

Is this your first time running it, or you have had no problems before and all of a sudden this is happening?

It started suddenly. But i think i am on the right track. I opened taskmanager and started ending processes that were not important. (I think). I can now do the cutting setup and nothing hangs. I am now going to look what the process where doing when i terminated them. So wish me success.

Just checking. I know that when I first tried to use CutStudio, that it would hang when I went to "Print". Then when I updated the driver, it worked.

I found out what was giving me this problem. I am using an IOGear GWU523 usb wifi adapter. THe utility when running in the background causes this hangup. As soon as i terminate it, evrythinig runs smooth.
So now i am going to look for the solotion.

You might just wanna start using USB extenders and CAT5 wire....simplifies alot of headaches.....I'm so glad my new Roland thats coming has eithernet capabilities.

I am having the same problem. Worked fine last night. Today hangs every time I try to get settings from machine. Plugged directly into computer USB port. 2Gig memory. Not a lot of processes running. Please help.

With taskmanager i searched for a process that when terminated the hanging would be undone. After terminating some processes i got to the process that was the cause. Mine was a program used by a usb wireless adapter.

So now it doesnot hang anymore.
My USB adapter IOGEAR was using ZyDummyZD11B-BG.exe . I now let windows assign the networks etc.

That was my cure
