Hi Guys.
Just recieved my plotter / cutter today
Its a Bridge Pro 870 32" cutter (refine?)
All is good but when i test print (small box with diamond in it) the top left of the box is curved.
Ive now reduced the speed and force and its not as bad as when it started but now it doesnt cut deep enough (impossible to weed).
if i add force then it seems to reduce quality.
Any ideas?
What settings do you use for normal vinyl?
Current settings are:
Speed: 100mms (wasnt sure so i just reduced it slow)
Force 90g (anything below doesnt cut deep enough)
Thanks for any advice or help!

Hi for the weeding problem it sounds that the blade needs to be adjusted, the offset should be at 25mm, regular vinyl films should cut fine at 90 grams down pressure, the speed you need to play with. If you don't have a offset setting on your panel you will have to go in and set it in your cut program. Hope you get it to work for you!!
I dont think i have an offset setting and the test box thing is a built in thing with the cutter.
I just fire it up, set the force and speed then hit the test button.

cant find any instrcutions for blade depth, the pack of blades says 0.25mm.
The software (artcut) was set up as shown in the manual and i think it set the depth on its own.

Please Help!!!
I have installed my Artcut 2005 software but I am still unable to output to the cutter. I have a Bridge pro720 and it tests fine. Any ideas??
Did you set the BAUD RATE on the cutter to 4800?
On the cutter click SETUP and reduce the baud rate to 4800, any other setting wont work with USB mode.
Also did you select the cutter in the software as a Bridge pro cutter?
Also i fixed my offset problem, the carriage was off the rails lol
Ad,
yes, i have tried that to no avail! Glad you found your problem. I have noticed that in the output to cutter box the port is listed as COM3 but I cannot seem to access it to change that.
OK, I finally get something to output to the plotter but it draws a line all the way across the machine that doesnt show up on the computer screen. It also wants to keep going when it gets to the other side of the plotter machine.

This sounds like you have a guide line in the drawing that may be hidden from view. If so, the guide line will be picked up by the cutter and will try to cut as wide as your cutter will allow it. This happened with me when I left my guide lines in a drawing and brought the drawing into the cut software.
OK, I think the problem was my connection, I borrowed a desktop computer with serial cable connection and it worked just fine. Thanks to all for your help!!
