Default Need HELP!

I am in big need of help. I am trying to cut a name from Corel x3. Just a simple name(Donna) but when I go to Print and choose the plotter the plotter starts to move very little and then it shuts my whole computer down. I think it may have something to do with how the printer may be set up and I am a computer dumby.
Can someone please take me throught the steps of setting up my computer to my plotter and how to take something from Corelx3 to my plotter. My plotter came with Signcut x2 but I couldn't find any clipart on it so I bought the Corel drawx3 and still don't know how to get to the clipart on it either. I'm ready to give up. Please HELP! Donna

I don't know the specifics of your plotter, but with a Graphtec plotter, to cut with CorelDRAW, you use the application launcher (the little button on your top menu that looks like a Rocketship.

For Clipart, you would need to go to Tools -> Scrapbook -> Browse, and load your clipart CD into your CD drive. There you will be able to browse your clipart CD and choose the ones you want.

Default Re: Need HELP!

Donna, You are not able to cut vinyl using the Print Command in Corel with SignCut, once you have created, oriented, sized, etc...the project in Corel X3 and the cutter is on and waiting, launch SignCut using the Rocketship Icon in the top toolbar. SignCut PE (if you are using PE, then you will need an active internet connection, if not it defaults to LE and you are limited to options available) will open for cutting of the vinyl.

If you are already using this means to open SignCut and still have the results you've stated, there may be an issue with either the cabling to the cutter or drivers. Have you opened SignCut from either it's Icon or Program files and ran a test cut succesfully? What cutter do you have?

If you are using SignCut and probably a Copam or Refine brand, you will find a wealth of knowledge over at the US Cutter forum from people that are currently using the exact same set-up as yourself. If you are still having difficulty, there are several short uTube videos involving SignCut that may also very well help you along.

Vinyl can be contoured cut (the use of different colors to produce shadow or outline effect), that is not the same as contour cutting ( the ability to cut an outline) of a printed Ink Transfer image. I mention this because when you launch SignCut from Corel you'll also see the option of launching SignIt-X2 which is a feature of SignCut install that will enable some cool alterations to vector projects.

Which brings me to this. Prior to sending "Donna" to your cutter you will need to convert the artistic text to a curve, essentially a vector. There are several ways of doing this, let me suggest you click on tools (in top toolbar) in Corel, then click on object manager which should open in your right column. Right click on the Artistic Text and select convert to curves. Now that you have the right colum opened go back to your object on the page and right click on it, selecting properties. You should now see an image properties tab open in the right column, which makes changing colors and outline properties easier.
