Default Fashion Apparel Company Using Vinyl Only?

Does anyone here have, or know of, a fashion t-shirt apparel company making use of Vinyl transfers only? I see vinyl in use for other industries & applications (auto, athletic wear, stickers) but have not come across many companies/individuals using it for fashion apparel, aside from a few posts I've read.

Thanks!

AB

Most fashion today leans toward a very soft hand (usually no hand). As great as vinyl is, it still has a hand. Also you can only do flat colors, if detailed lots-of-weeding, no large areas of color (unless you like a heavy feel). I don't think it lends itself well to the fashion side.

I could be wrong though.

Ive done my gold foil shirts in heat applied vinyl, nobody has complained about it, but as soon as I restock on those styles Ill prolly use screenprint and foil, just so I dont have to weed or use so much thermoflex.

There was also another company on here doing a heart shaped out of guns with a red drip that was made in vinyl, it is a pretty tight shirt.

If you do it correctly you can normally get more money out of your shirts and the wow facter is great especially with women, take a look at this.

This is very nice, I like it! I can understand what you mean about the wow factor and getting more profit because of the customization and time to create this look.

my company uses all vinyl for our prints. even though i have a screen printing shop, vinyl has been the most durable and best feeling on american apparel tees.

Good vinyl can have less of a hand than poor or heavy screenprinting.

Actually, we find that ThermoFlex Plus has less of a hand than the plastisol sheets that you cut on your vinyl cutter! So I'm assuming that it has less of a hand than most plastisol transfers, too...

That does look great, Roger!

What is considered "good" vinyl?

I've seen a number of brands mentioned here including ThermoFlex, Oracal, Spectra Cut & Hotfix Films.

oracal doesn't make heat applied film, they deal with sign vinyl. "good" vinyl to me is thermoflex. i can't stand spectra, but that's just me. thermoflex feels smooth and weeds easily. just my $.02

Personally, I consider "good" vinyl to be ThermoFlex Plus. It has a decent hand, and doesn't pucker the way some vinyls do.

I haven't tried HotFix Films yet, but I've heard good things about that vinyl, too.

One that I DON'T like is Hotmark. I pressed one shirt with that and it puckered something aweful once washed.
