Hey everyone,
I had the opportunity to try out a new heat press vinyl today. One of our very own members runs a site called Heat Press Vinyl and is offering a really great product at a pretty darn good price.
I was looking for a vinyl that was:
a.) Easy to weed
b.) able to work on nylon bags (low temp and all)
c.) affordable
This stuff worked and fit the bill perfectly.
Roger sent me 2 9x12 sheets of his HP-U and HP-V vinyls along with a logo sized sample of the Flock, Metallic and Glitter vinyls that he offers.
Since I was in dire need of something to work with these 100% Denier Nylon back sacks, I tried the HP-V first. It cut great, weeded like a dream and applied perfectly to these bags.
I will say, however, if you're going for a super soft hand, this probably won't fit the bill, it's a bit thicker than you might be used to. BUT for the bags, it's perfect, it has a sport vinyl feel to it.
Then I tried the HP-U, applied that to a nylon mesh jersey and it went on exactly as the HP-V did with the bags. Cut/weed pefectly, good, strong adhesive carrier so I didn't have to worry about lifting my transfer image off the sheet while weeding and it had a bit softer hand than the V did.
His prices ain't bad either!
With the logo samples that were included, I had a junk shirt laying around and applied all three at the same time (all these products use the same heat setting, pressure and dwell times). One press, rub it down and let it cool, and here we are. Perfectly applied, felt great on the shirt and looks fantastic.
If you're looking for an alternative to Thermo and Spectra, I would strongly suggest trying Heat Press Vinyl. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I sure wasn't.
