Hi, I got a short question: Thermoflex Plus, is a material or is brand?
Another question: Using thermoflex, how do i make designs with two or three colors?
Thanks
thermoflex is the material for the brand Digicat.
there are also other materials like decoflock, decofilm, etc...
to make multicolor designs with it you would need to cut the separate sections in their colors and apply them sequentially to build the multicolor design when finished.
I just did a two color job with thermofles...it is a C and L...each with a shadow ..I vectorized the image..broke it apart.. I cut the main color red thermoflex out...then cut the shadow part out of gray thermoflex. Then slightly pressed the shadow part on lightly..then lined up the main color red..up next to..but not over the gray..pressed for 20 seconds @350...presto and neat pressing...and most important..client happy
Actually, I believe, Thermoflex is a brand made by Specialty Materials. The Thermoflex Plus is for cotton/poly blends and the Thermoflex Extra is for nylon.

That's what I thought too. I've never heard of Digicat brand being associated with ThermoFlex. ThermoFlex is made by Specialty Materials. ThermoFlex Plus is one of the products they make, with others being ThermoFlex Sport, ThermoFlex Xtra, DecoFlock, DecoSparkle, etc. These are all made by Specialty Materials.
OK, so they way is first to press one color wait it cools and then press the other color. Is that rigth? and i cannot put one over the other?
Yes, you absolutely can put one color on top of another color. Vinyl actually sticks to other vinyl much better than it sticks to fabric. But you don't want to do too many layers, because it will get too thick on the shirt.
As far as letting it cool, that's dependent on the vinyl you are using. Most ThermoFlex Plus colors can be peeled hot, and the 2nd color applied immediately. And when doing multiple colors, I will decrease the dwell time to 10 sec for the first layer when using ThermoFlex. It works under a wide range of settings, which is another reason I like it.
I have a flyer around here some place that has Digicat associated with Thermoflex.
Here's their website. Specialty Materials - Home
They have a new much improved website now. The old one was just a few pages of static PDF's (it seemed). I don't see any mention of Digicat on it anywhere, but of course I haven't read the entire website. Under the "ABOUT US" section, it's not mentioned, which is where you would expect to see it.
Is Digicat even a company? I thought it was just a generic word made up from shortening Digital Computer Aided Transfer, or something like that. I just did a google for Digicat and did not find a company.
