Default VERSACAMM pricing

We are considering purchasing either a SP or VP 300 Versacamm.

Roland has prices on their site, are these firm prices accross the board or can one dealer do better than another?

Also, how much more can I expect to spend on other items like ink, vinyl etc. to get up and running? If the price is firm for all dealers then the freebies and dealer customer care will be the deciding factor.

BTW, we have had a legacy Roland PNC 1210 forever and have never ever had a problem. I called Roland to see if the Cut Studio software would work from my laptop USB port to the parallel on the cutter before I bought it. I sat on the phone way to long so I hung up... I didn't buy the software because I couldn't get through... I hope that's the exception and not the norm.

Thanks,
Mark

We looked into buying one earlier this year but opted for a DTG printer.
It was our experience that the price is the same across the board. Free goodies are what makes the difference. I would think a start up package is probably standard among dealers. What's in it may be different. I would think inks would be included.
Your biggest concern should be training and service. How far away is the service rep? And who pays for him to come to see you if the printer goes down. Dealer reputation is important also. The dealer will be the one to handle your problems not Roland.
Check to see if there are any demo models for sale too.
The printer comes with RIP software so you can design and print from the usual design programs and send it to the RIP and away you go.
And don't forget you'll need a laminator if your prints are going on a vehicle or outdoors for any length of time.

I have a versacamm 540.. and love it.. The suppliers usually have a little wiggle room on the price.. when we got ours it was retailing at 19,900 or about.. we got ours for 17,900 it came with one set of inks... but the dealer gave us another set.. so we started off with 2 sets of ink.. we also got a media pack with an assortment of vinyl.. .. I think as mike said.. its really important to have a good dealier to work with.. I love mine.. Hes great.. and local.. .. when we got our machine.. we got a full day of training.. i mean 8 hours.. plus he came back part of another day.. and now almost 2 years later he still helps us at a drop of the hat with anything we need.

MHD,
CutStudio software will run the PNC-1210 and you don't need a USB to Parrallel connection to use it. The windows driver you currently use will work on CutStudio. The long wait times you experienced on the phone are an exception and not the norm. You can always email tech support as well [email address]

Hope this helps,

Hope this helps,
I have to run USB to parrallel because my lap top only has USB ports and the cutter has a parrallel. We bought the cutter from Stahl's a long time ago and used their Drawmate plugin for Corel. The software is no longer updated by Stahl's and will not cut from within the software. My concern with cut studio is that I get the same thing, the software opens but won't send to the cutter.

So before I buy you are telling me that someone at roland has a laptop with cutstudio on it and tried running from the laptop USB port to the Roland PNC 1210 parrallel port and it works?

Thanks,
Mark
