Default Versacamm and Windows Vista

I recently bought a new PC with Windows Vista and I'm having trouble intalling my SP-300V. I get an error while installing the driver for USB (version 4.0) :-((, anybody experienced this? any workarround known?
I was told that there is no driver for Vista (yet) and that VersaWorks won't work on Vista!!!??? This sound quite strange to me, Vista is on the market for a while and what about retrocompatibility between XP and Vista?

I had some difficulty with CutStudio. I had to dig through Rolands site to find a patch for XP, which worked. They also have their own forum, Roland User Forums - Forums , you can try there, but it is not the greatest spot.

This is why i will not install Vista. I think it is too new for a lot of the cutters out there. I think you can partition your computer to have 2 operating system. anyone wantt to correct me on that?

badalou is correct..you can have a dual boot system..you will need to buy XP though...but it may not be for sale for long as MS wants to get all on Vista

Thank you all, I choose Vista because it was newer and didn't bring a "visible" increase in cost because it was OEM with a new PC...

I don't think you can really get a new system without it. I got a cheap PC to run my cutter, just to find out that they didn't support Vista. What I have read on the internet, it seems like most people won't upgrade yet.

Vista is the first version that is not totaly backwards compatable. A lot of people are still having problems with printers and such. If you bought an off the shelf PC from one of the big box stores, you would need to be careful trying to do a partition and making it a dual boot system since several of the name brands do not give you the windows disk but put it on the hard drive in a seperate partition which you don't see. You could probably install a second drive and do a dual boot if you have a full version of XP.

Yeah, that caught me by surprise and it's crazy - but a quick download was all it took to get my new color printer up and running. It seems like there should be downloads out there - did you contact both Microsoft and VersaWorks?

DMS,
It looks like we don;t currently have a Vista driver, but the best place to check back on from time to time is here:
Roland DGA Corp. - Support - Technical Support and Services for Roland Products
It's the drivers page on our website. As soon as we have it, it will be posted there.
hope this helps,

Vista has alot of problems with machines we sell. We have lasers and vinyl cutters and vist just was not co operating. Roland does have vista drivers but my theory is this,,,, remember how bad XP was when it first came out, all kinds of problems,,, they get them resolved and a sound working systems and BAAM new operating system. If it aint broke dont fix it. Finally XP was solid i would make that a dual boot system or even get rid of Vista. Most business dont need the bells and whistles of Vista,,,,xp was fine...

I'm using the Roland Stika-15 with CutStudio on Vista HE, they don't have a version for Vista persay, so I downloaded the latest XP drivers and got it to work. If they have a XP version, giv that a try.

Roland says that there is no available driver YET, I'll give a check at Microsoft But I don't foresee that they can fix the drivers for other hardware manufacturers. I guess that the double boot must be the way out...

Ok, can someone help. I'm very, very new to this. I have the Epson Stylus C110 and the PowerDriver C110IQ. I have installed it but when I got use the PowerDriver the error message reads: please verify that the OEM is also installed and selected within the printing preferences
I am using a new computer with Vist on it. I don't even know what OEM stands for. I would really appreciate some advice. Merry Chrissy too by the way.
