I think you will need a vinyl cutter/plotter/press and mag. backed vinyl. At first it might be easier to sub out the order to one who already has that equipment. Also check out your local market. In my area there are several that do this and I would not like to start out here

You need a vinyl cutter and software, some vinyl, and some magnetic material, transfer tape, squeegee, exacto knife, scissors, a corner rounder or blanks already rounded or scissors again. You lay out the sign cut the vinyl weed it tape it transfer it squeegee it remove the tape remove the bubbles trim the corners and give the customer a sheet of instructions so they don't put them on wrong or store them wrong or leave them on sooo long they can't remove them and blame you for not telling them. Then you hope you don't get sued for them using them wrong. Some shops go so far as to have the customer sign that they received the instruction sheet. Remember, paint jobs are not cheap. Then collect the money.

Actually, of all the signs I make the magnetics are the easiest and one of the most profitable. But because of the use they also have the most liability and pose the most risk of customer dissatisfaction.

We sell alot of magnets.. the cut vinyl ones we sell for 104 a pair.. of 12 x 24 magnets.. the digital printed ones we sell for 160 a pair.. .. believe it or not.. we sell 5 x's as many of the digital printed ones..
we give people a care sheet and also explain to them how they need to take the magnets off once a week.. .. that if it rains take them off.. and whip them and the car/truck down as water and dirt go behind them and can scratch the car.. .. we also buy our magnet material by the roll and cut it ourself and round the corners..

Magnets are good sellers if you have good design skills..

I sell mine at half your price and people still complain about the price. You have to be from California or New York.
