Default Can we eliminate weeding by....

Applying acetone on the parts that have to be weeded and then heat pressing. The parts which have acetone applied may not stick to the garment.

I don't think, I would want the garment to smell like acetone. Good luck. .....JB

It sounds like just as much if not more work. If you have a very detailed cut, you would have to brush that onto small areas. Weeding is not as bad as it sounds.

Acetone has a very high flammability rate!!!!!!!!!

I'd advise against using it. I don't know what the flash point is for acetone, but it is not something to play around heat with.

Be Careful!!

I don't see any benefit plus its extra cost and risk. If you have to go and apply acetone to everything you would want weeded out, then you might as well just weed it out.

Maybe it's because most of my work is with sign vinyls, but I find weeding to be extremely easy with heat transfer vinyl (even fine detail). It's stretchy and you don't need to watch for your weed to stick itself to your design when separating.

The acetone sounds like a time consuming step that has potential to do more harm than it may help.

Acetone is a hepatoxin. Inhaling the fumes on a regular basis will cause severe liver damage and eventually, death. Other than that, sounds like a great idea!

Acetone is a pretty nasty chemical, I wouldn't want it on my skin or clothes for any extended length of time, much less clothes I intend to sell.

If weeding is such a big hassle that you're actually considering this, it's time to find another way to decorate your shirts.
