It sounds like just as much if not more work. If you have a very detailed cut, you would have to brush that onto small areas. Weeding is not as bad as it sounds.

I don't see any benefit plus its extra cost and risk. If you have to go and apply acetone to everything you would want weeded out, then you might as well just weed it out.
Maybe it's because most of my work is with sign vinyls, but I find weeding to be extremely easy with heat transfer vinyl (even fine detail). It's stretchy and you don't need to watch for your weed to stick itself to your design when separating.
The acetone sounds like a time consuming step that has potential to do more harm than it may help.
Acetone is a hepatoxin. Inhaling the fumes on a regular basis will cause severe liver damage and eventually, death. Other than that, sounds like a great idea!
Thats an interesting ...(idea?) you say may not stick so you havent tried it?what would make you think acetone wouldnt make it stick? just curious.I use it sometimes to cut rubber cement,fun fun fun.good thinkin' tho
