It can sometimes be harder to learn on the "less expensive" stuff because of problems with the machines working the way they are supposed to.
You may get a wrong impression about the heat transfer process by the quality of the machines you buy.
If you fully understand that many problems you may come across may be due to the equipment and not the process, and you don't mind doing LOTS of testing and retesting to get things working right, and you don't mind not having a longer warranty and good service/support behind the product, and you don't mind not being able to sell the equipment for a decent price if you want to upgrade, then it may be worth considering
