I've got a customer wanting a large vinyl sign about 5 ft by 2.5 ft. I've heard the guideline on here is about $5 + 0.10 cents per square inch for the smaller vinyl decals. Does this hold true for the large ones too. Just pricing by sq-in alone, it would be 1800 sq-in, at .10 cents per sq-in, comes to $180.
That seems like a lot to me for something that will cost me about $7 worth of vinyl. But if that's the going rate....
I was thinking of charging like .07 cents per sq-in which would come to about $125. Am I in the ballpark here?
Just thought I would add that does not include the substrate. They want it on a 8' banner to hang on a dugout fence. I would be applying it to the banner. I'ts 1 color. I was thinking of charging $45 for the banner (my cost is $25). Does that sound about right?
i generally price banners as a single entity and use a per sq ft pricing. basic text, single color, one side starts at $6.50 per sf and goes up from there for additional colors, logos or artwork, double sided, etc.

Thanks Jan, so an 8' x 4' banner with simple 1-color vinyl would be $208? And that includes banner, vinyl, and application?
omigod - sorry rusty i can't type today (blushing furiously) that should be $5.50/sf for what you're describing.....$176 out the door. i need more coffee........
