Just bought a brand new Roland GX 24 and have a quick question...
Hi guys...going by the research i have done by your posts i have come to the conclusion to buy a Roland GX-24 vinyl cutter...NOW...
I want to do soccer jerseys for the local league here and i was wondering which type of vinyl to use...i saw a thread on here praising the durability of the THERMOFLEX plus and am looking into getting that, but i was wondering if the Opacity of the white vinyl on the thermoflex is good as to not being able to see through it once it's pressed onto the jersey...i'm looking for a solid white color in the numbers...thanks!

Spectra Cut II white has MAJOR PROBLEMS but Imprintables will not admit to it on this forum for some reason. They won't return emails or phone calls about the problem either. Very bad customer service on their part. Thermoflex plus and multicut work perfectly in any color.

I have had great luck with Hotmark 70 and the heat press vinyl sold at Ace Transfer Company. I would also encourage all to get a allignment tool. I purchased the teesquareit and it works great. This tool has saved me a lot of time and energy keeping my work straight. Good luck and happy pressing ! ..... JB

Any of the major vinyl products should provide very opaque results; there won't be any see-through effect.
Thermoflex is probably the most recommended type of vinyl out there right now, but it is also expensive. It's probably a good place to start (especially if you already have orders in mind), but you might consider trying other brands to comapre later (this is my plan when I finally get a cutter).
The problems with Spectra Cut II are white-specific. I think Josh has mentioned they got a bad batch of it and are trying to work through the problem right now, but at this time most people would suggest avoiding it in white. The other colors should be fine, and many people do like this type of vinyl as well.
IIRC, Spectra Cut II is easier to weed, but depending on what you're doing that might be a bad thing (e.g. fine detail might come loose more easily). As I said above, your best bet is probably to try several types, but if you have to choose one right now I'd go with the ThermoFlex.

SCII is not white specific, white is the worst but light gray and black I have had problems with also, not as bad as white, but problems nonetheless.
Also, Multicut from joto has been just as good as thermoflex plus for me and is cheaper and comes in 20" wide rolls.
