Default roland GX 24 vs the Sitka cutter. What are the differences?

I was looking on imprinatables.com and checked there heatpress/vynil cutters. Im just starting out and wanted to get a vynil cutter and a press. I noticed there is a big price difference on this site from the GX cutter and the Sitka cutter. I was wondering what the difference is in use. I'm looking to make vynil stickers and the press material for headwear. I have some exp. with using the equipment but any help is appreciated.

Thanks a lot
Tom

There are sooooo many differences I don't know where to start. I would suggest you got to the Roland web site and look at the specifications of both types of machine. Then decide what fits your needs and budget best. Some people have space limitations or need portability which the GX is not suited for and some need speed and use 24" vinyl which the Stika will never work for. And then if you aren't confused enough try checking out some of the other cutters from Gerber, Graphtec, Summa, Copam, Cougar, Panther and all the others.

Sign Warehouse sells the Cougar and Panther models but the other ones are sold by individual distributors or direct from the company. There has been quite a few discussions on the CoPam here on this forum.

One old rule of thumb that most of the sign makers who used plotters to make a living say.. Is this

NEVER buy a plotter named after an animal..... lol.. I know it sounds silly but the ones named after animals are all known for not being as good of machines
