Default How do you cut .jpegs with cut studio pluggin for Mac Illustrator?

I read somewhere this is possible.

I ve found the cutstudio pluggin doesnt see anything unless its in a Vector {i.e text, you have to create outlines}

Any tips?

Cheers!

If you are using Illustrator CS2, you can use the trace function to create vector lines. Or if it is not too dificult and you are familiar with Illustrator, you could hand trace it. These options are easy if you are dealing with something in the vein of a logo. If you are trying to do it with a photo, then you may run into some issue with that.

I think the "cut-segment" or "cut-path" should always be a vector.

Another thing not to get confused with, is the CutStudio program on a PC(not the plug-in), can import jpegs and bitmaps and then trace them.

Ahh that must be it.
The PC version can trace the jpegs......
I use osx and Illy, so yeah tracing stuff is fine.

I figured it was too good to be true, as jpegs are usually jagged, and the cutter has such a fine detail.

Thanks guys!

Remember that you can trace an object in Illustrator CS2. But you do need a good resolution file.

YEah live trace.

It works pretty good, but I can use the pen tool and get a better result {With more time invested however}

Cheers!
