Default digital cutter question

Hello everybody!! It's been a little hectic so I haven't been on in awhile, sorry Anyway, I'm exploring my options at purchasing a digital cutter, however, I had ordered some spectra paper and hate it!!! I printed some shorts ( on the butt) and it was horrible, the cold peel didn't want to peel, I pressed several times and it still wanted to stick to the paper, or didn't come clean on the shorts, (any suggestions?) anyway, the main question, what do you recommend for a digital cutter as far as vinyl? Keep in mind that I'm still a newbie at this, Is there a paper you can get for the digital cutter that is the plastisol? Thanks to all any help will be great!!

Jenn

If you don't have a cutter, how did you cut the spectracut?

Search the forums for Spectracut, you will find a few threads that might help you with the Spectracut.
Take a look at Therm-flex. It costs about a third more than SpectraCut.
Your Thermoflex vinyl supplier?

I had ordered some letters from imprintables warehouse, I called 2 times when I was pressing, and I still couldn't get it to come out right. I'll definately call Josh to order the cutter, but I"m very leary of the spectra, I don't know what I did wrong.Any ideas? Thanks John!

You will like the service from Imprintables.

SpectraCut works great when you have your technique correct. White is harder than the colors, but if you learn the white, the rest is easy.

Do an advanced search for 'Spectracut' and Username 'John S'
You'll find a few lists that I think you will find helpful.

John, I went to one of the posts, It was hands down exactly the same problems that I had, however my husband just used the same letters off of the exact same sheet of spectra cut, he pressed for 15 seconds instead of 8 and increased the pressure, he also pressed again after he peeled the backing with the teflon sheet over it. So far So good!! If the spectra can withstand my 3 year old wearing it then I may have a different opinion of it. ( I also printed out that thread for future reference) Thanks!!!!!

Adding time is good, but more pressure can get you in trouble. I like to make sure the collar is off the platen for the pressing. The extra thickness can wedge the top plate up off the vinyl.

Well so far so good, she's been in the sand, on the trampoline, lol. It's staying strong. We'll see what happens after I wash it. You definately have to wait until it's cold. Thanks for all of your help, I really appreciate it!
