Help please: graphtec 3000 how do i tell my lap top to print around the design?
Hi,
Please can someone tell me what i'm doing wrong. I have a graphtec 3000 and im trying to cut around a design so i can press it onto a t-shirt. I've put reg marks on the design but how do i tell my lap top to print around the design. i called tech support uk but it didnt help. what am i missing?
Hi Jan,
Thanks for replying.
I'm using illustrator cs2 for the design and then i have 'cutting master' which came with the graphtech plotter. I'm using a mac.
You'll have to excuse my lack of knowledge but i'm very new to this. I have no trouble in cutting out 1 colour vinyl jobs and then weeding but i'm starting to get orders asking for full colour prints. i purchased an oki 5600 to print out the designs but when it comes to getting the plotter to do it's stuff with the reg marks i'm lost. As i've said i called the tech support in the UK but they could'nt be bothered to help.
Any help/info is greatly appreciated.
pdf that shows the steps necessary for the print/cut combo to work. it sounds as tho you're perhaps missing a step in the 'cut' part and the plotter simply isn't 'seeing' any cut lines, regardless of the reg marks. either that or the problem lies in the final output - page 4 of that pdf indicates that there are some separate steps you may need to take turning print off and cut on?? it seems to be pretty well written - d/l the pdf and see if this is the problem, if not holler back and i'll dig further!
not having your software, i'm flying in the dark, but here's a screen shot of what i found in the pdf i pointed you to - apparently there is a tab for creating layers and two different option buttons within the tab - one for cut, and one for print. when you draw the cut outline i think you have to 'assign' it as cut layer by selecting it and hitting that 'cut' button - or perhaps you hit the cut button and then draw the outline, i can't tell, but playing with it a bit should get you there! good luck
