Just finished a small job for some friends who are going to see a taping of The Price is Right (a long running daytime game show in the US). They're super excited. I found the show's font and was able to whip up a dozen shirts in about 2 hours.
This was the first time I used the Spectra foil. Super easy to weed and it looks pretty good. Pricey though. $50 or so for 5 yards. The girls LOVE the sparkles!
Hopefully they'll get picked and I'll have a shirt on national TV.
My wife and I went to the taping the last week we lived in LA.. It was a long day.... I lived one block from Bob Barker at the end of La Brea and seen him drive in his gate a lot.. Every time I see the people wearing those tees I go Kaching! How is your girl friends foot..
That's what I've heard. That and it's COLD in the studio. It's his last year doing it. I can't believe he's still doing that show. What's it been? 30 years? What a gig!
She's mostly recovered. Fortunately she only had a very bruised patella. I sprained my ankle a week after the show so we've both been gimped up for a while.
Talk about getting a life.. I am usually sitting here doing work and at 10 AM I put on the show... for fun.. then after that I put on CNN for the real world..
That's fine. But, you don't get excited about watching a VCR tape of a previous show, you don't search out the font, and you don't print t-shirts for everyone else who was excited about watching the VCR.
In my book, your situation makes you normal (especially since you sold your house down the street from Bob [at California prices], and are most likely retired on the resale value of that home... lol)
and are most likely retired on the resale value of that home... lol)
Actually it was a condo and we sold it to 2 producers.. We call them the 2 Brians.. Our condo sold in 10 years for 50 k more that we bought it for.. now 6 years later it is selling for.. drum roll... 500,000 more.. I can make my wife cry just by telling her that.. But we did move to an area that went crazy after we bought our home so now we are somewhat happy nad everything came together.. VCR Tape?
