HELP! I can't get my heatpress to lock!

Default HELP! I can't get my heatpress to lock!

Hey everyone. I'm pretty new to the whole heatpressing thing and i've recently bought a HIX ht-600... When i close the heatpress it wont lock! ...What do i do?

Hix are well made and are basic tech engineered.

Did it lock before ? or is this the first time you have used it ?

There should be an adjustment knob on the handle somewhere to increase the pressure. Without enough pressure being applied the press will not lock down.

Yes, T-Bot, this is the first time ive been using it - it comes freshly out of the box.

Tcrowder - i increaded the pressure with the adjustment knob but still, it wont lock

You are applying too much pressure. back off and adjust press for each transfer as needed. Some are light, some are heavy. If you are trying to close the top and the handle will not lock then you are giving it to much pressure.

I just played around some more with the pressure knob and it works now Thankoo!
