Hello,
I have a question about heat transfers. I have found a company that does
sell stock transfers. The prices do not seem bad. The company is Miami transfers and foil has anyone worked with them before? Next question is I am starting
a store front location in a tourist area can the transfers be folded and displayed on shelves or will this hurt the transfer? some of the transfer companies they sell
are Dixie traditions,Barber,Wildside,X-it,sunart,global,dowling graphics,MBS Love,& Impulse. These seem to be some of the top companies? any help with any of this would help Iam opening in april or may. And thank you for any input very new but very motivated been in retail business as manager for 25 years in apparel industry.
At ProWold Inc the have display units that are available to purchase. You might want to take a look at those. I would not really recommend folding them though. If you are just look for a quick, cheap easy way to store the ones that are not on display then purchase some large pizza boxes, unused of course. This way you can keep them flat. Also depending on the quantity that you are going to be doing some of them you can just scan the transfer and print it out on regular paper and put that on display. Hope this helps out since not sure on how exactly you want to display them.

I see nothing wrong with folding. Most of your classier boutique's fold their shirts. The transfers companies you stated are very good. Also I found this new one, applied graphics. Lou
Are you talking about folding the actual transfer or a shirt once they've been put on a shirt? If folding the transfer, then no, it might ruin it, if folding the shirt, go for it. It won't hurt a thing.

Thanks allot for the replies. I will be putting transfers on the t shirts and then folding some onto wood shelves that I built. I have four ways and rounders fixtures that I am also using. I just didn't know if the transfer would get messed up if I folded them thanks allot for the info!!!
You can use a transfer display such as the one from Pro-World. The problem is that most transfers before printing dont look anything like the finished product. I would have a wall of printed images as your display.
The beauty of stock transfers is the ability to print on demand, add new designs and eliminate ones that dont sell on the fly. You can easily adjust designs based on seasons, holidays and buying patterns/clientel without having to print large numbers of shirts up front. You can stock 6 to 12 images of 100 different designs and its fairly inexpensive. You can have catalogs for special orders and print in specific customer chosen locations on the apparel. You have the chance to interact with the customer because of the different variables mentioned which means you have an open opportunity to sell. A stack of printed shirts doesnt allow much variation and doesnt create the illusion of custom or individual excitement..its not unique. You can have different price points by offering differnt quality blank apparel. Customer can choose a blank based on what style, color, fit, weight they like or can afford, choose a design, choose a placement and see it happen. The whole experienc is different than picking a shirt out of a stack of 50 just a like pcs. The ability to interact with the shopper gives you so many opportunities to get the customer excited and involved.
Thanks for all the info!!!!! I have been playing around with the store front location instead of just the internet. The area that Iam going to set up in is a High
traffic tourist area with both high traffic in summer and winter. I have all the catalogs and I have all the fixtures and accounts all set up. I was on a waiting list to get a lease there and just happened to get lucky. I use to run a t-shirt store here in michigan for the owner it had 20 locations but the owner was always changing the name and re-doing the insides and went out of business. So I do have 7 years selling t-shirts and apparel. I have a really cool name for the company and everything else ties in to the name. I also have a way to display the t-shirts on the walls that I have never seen anywhere before (top secret) I'll tell you guys after i open . There is one thing I do need some help with that I have been researching about. The heat press which one do you guys like and how big should it be? I was looking at the 16x20 hix or mighty press?
I think with the research I have done I could move at least 200 t-shirts a day or more. There was a location in that area before I talked to the owner and he was moving 200-300 a day. He relocated to a big new mall here thinking that it would be even better but it has not as of yet. Thanks again will be talking to u soon.
