I have a customer that wants to have his son portrayed in vinyl on his wall, I have an HP Designjet 2500 cp that uses pigment ink, the wall vinyl that I have found to do the job says it will work with :
U - ULTRA Eco-Solvent Inks
• + - PLUS Eco-Solvent Inks
• M - MAX Inks
• UV Compatible
The pigment ink is uv ink and I just want to make sure it will work before buying the material and committing to the customer that I can do it.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, and no I cannot afford a new printer at this time.
If you will contact Phototex, they will send you a 20' sample roll. You can test it before you spend any money. They were very nice and actually sent me a second sample roll after mistakenly sending me solvent ink type first. Photo Tex Group Inc.
The material you were originally referring to is for solvent ink, you are wanting a vinyl with an aqueous coating. Two completely different animals. I've seen a few prints from a Roland solvent printer on PhotoTex, it's not that great in my opinion. Another option for aqueous inks is Avery 2500,2501,2601 etc. prints nicely, stays on wall even at full bleed, but I don't know about removal, or repositionalbility, I'm thinking maybe not so good. Go with PhotoTex. All these other materials compare themselves to PT, just as good, cheaper but better, just cheaper. Why not go with the tried and proven original. My 02
What I really like about Phototex is the adhesive. It is removable without leaving a residue and can he repositioned numerous times, they say up to 200. It is water resistant and is translucent (can be backlit). I print on it with a Canon 8000 wide format printer and get very nice prints with pigmented ink.
Hi
I have recently purchased a roland cj70 that is coming with pigmented inks. It is an older but serviced machine that cuts (main reason I bought it) as well. However I am wondering what it can print onto. In other words what do I do with pigment inks I have been searching the net and still don't have clear idea on type of substrate/media to use. I run corel x4 and also need good Rip program advice . Any assistance would be appreciated.
