Default Eco Film [[BLACK]]

Has anyone else had trouble with thier cutter reading the black Eco Film from Imprintables Warehouse or anywhere else?

I just switched from Thermo Flex to Eco Film and really like the hot peel performance and multi color features. I purchased six different colors and all the colors work flawlessly except the black. The Plotter keeps reading "No Media". In order to get through my two jobs requiring black I had to cut the Eco Film into sheets and plot in sheet mode. It does seem to have a little bit of oilyness (if that is a word) compared to all the other colors. Maybe it is throwing off the optical eye. I have tried on several different days and always end up having to cut it into sheets to get thru the job. This is getting old. what gives. I did not have this issue with ThermoFlex Black.

Try putting a piece of masking tape over the optical eye...it may just not be reading the media...I have Roland cutters and have never had a problem w/ it reading the media, but others have.

The black material is reflecting and blinding the sheet sensor on the GX-24. The masking tape will work to fix this issue by tricking the cutter. If you never move your pinch rollers for different widths this is actually a nice way to speed up switching materials, so you don't have to keep setting the machine up for a new roll.

I own the graphtec plotter. I assume I can use the masking tape trick on any optical eye plotter, Correct?

Not 100% certain but I have to assume that this would be the fix for that cutter as well.
