I have been trying to use some stock transfers from Pro World without much success. I don't know if I have a press problem or a transfer problem. The edges of the transfer do not seem to stick to the shirts. I am following the directions given by Pro World over the phone: 390 degrees, 10 sec, prepressing shirts for 7 sec twice (gildan ultra cotton) I am using a Sunie (Sekei) 15 X 15 press. I have checked the platen with an IR temp gauge and I don't have any cold spots, though I do have what I think might be hot spots. When the transfer is peeled, some of the ink wants to stay on the paper. I am doing a hot peel, trying to get the paper off as quickly as possible. You can clearly see the outline of the transfers in full color after the sheet comes off. NOt sure how much should stay on the sheet. Sunie says I should try to press a little longer, maybe 15 sec. I tried this and it did not help. Does anyone else have this problem, or am I the only one. I think the stock transfers are great. I am trying to talk to Sunie about the hot spots. Please provide advice.

If the temp is too high, can that xcrew up the process and keep the transfers from sticking to the shirt? When my press is set to 390, the true surface temp ranges from 370 to 427

I know this is late, but I have had similar problems. What I found was I was pre heating the shirt too much, then applying the transfer to the hot shirt. I let them cool a bit and the problem was solved.
Before peeling off the paper, we take a cotton cloth and rub over the transfer. We also take a squeege or hard piece of plastic and rub around the transfer before peeling.
Paul, not always a good idea. If you let some of the hot peel inks cool to much they will not release. Rubbing with a cloth and letting the transfer cool is the application procedure for cold peel designs. Is that what you are referring to?
