I think I have gotten some of those screens. Inconsistent tension, Lose tension quickly, a couple ripped. I would like to have seen him test his tension.
Is that carpet tacking strip used? I make my own frames, but stetch and staple them. If that works, that's cleaver.
hi mate,,,,,dont see why it wouldnt work,,,if you do it tight enuf and your glue is good enuf im eventually gonna get round to making my own version of this not sure if its carpet tacking ,,,
I always presumed the problem with this kind of thing is you should tension the mesh, then leave it a while, as it will drop in tension and you retension to bring it back to the correct value (measured by a tension meter and not just guessed)?
if you glue it straight away it will lose tension pretty quickly and you'll be into all sorts of problems.
if its just a one colour job for your mates maybe it'll work but cant see you doing anything serious.
but perhaps people get it to work for them, tho its a lot of effort when an aluminum screen is only £20 or so.

hi theyre a decent sized aluminium screen on ebay will be 30-35 pounds delivered,,, where can you get em for 20????,,,,,also its a case of when you allready haVE the frames but need to re-mesh them
I'm sure I've seen places like wicked with 20 x 24 screens for around the 18-20 mark. Screenstretch are not much more.
Depends what size your after I supose.
Their [wicked] last newsletter type thing said they do restretching as well now but dont know how much for.
I'm trying to find somewhere to get roller frames in the UK but not having much luck without it costing a fortune.
