Default Xpres light transfer paper

Hi all,
I have a friend who has given me some artwork to print on a light coloured tote bag for him, problem is that the design is a spiral so its going to be very time consuming to cut all the way around into the middle of the design, my question is, how much transfer paper can you leave around or in the middle of a design?
Lets say for an example, if i did a HUGE 'D', would the middle of the D have to cut out, or could you just cut around the edge and leave paper in the middle?
Sorry I have not tried these transfers before so i dont really know if im explaining it right

Hiya. We print natural coloured Tote Bags regularly. If you use the Xpres Inkjet 1000 product & just cut around the outside of the printed image. When you press this onto a Natural Bag, you can't see any of the transfer. They look great.

Hope that helps.

Our problem is when printing onto dark coloured tote bags in multi colour. Our ony way of doig this is onto transfer paper & they look naff on dark material. How does anyone else do this?
