Default The Magic Touch

Has anyone else used this company? I found them online recently and I've ordered a few items from them. They haven't arrived yet but I wonder if anyone else knows of this business?

http://www.themagictouch.co.uk/index.htm

They sell blank consumables (amongst other things) and they are based in Bedfordshire I think.

They seem ok. I'll let you know how it works out!

I haven't tried their WOW paper yet but the salesman that I spoke to seemed really keen to promote it. The funny thing is that he sounded just like Maurice from the comedy program 'The IT Crowd'.

Their main business is laser transfer papers and imprintables. I've just had some of their new range of mobile phone pouches which can be laser transfered or dye-sublimated. They are part of a new range named "Cool Stuff" made with neoprene rubber with a polyester outer.
I printed a couple with sublimation and they came out well.

Ok Thanks. I've ordered a few bits from them that should be here any day now (hopefully!) they were supposed to have been posted on Monday, so I'll let you know what they're like and if they're any good when they arrive.

Well the items I ordered arrived this morning.

I can't tell you how disappointed I am with the clock. I can't believe I wasted £5.75 (plus VAT and postage) on that. It came with a paper insert to print on, (just the one) and (totally my own fault I ruined it (the ink smudged as my ciss was a bit too high).

So I took a sheet of photo paper and printed on that instead and it was much better quality than the insert that they'd provided. The trouble was that it was a really awkward job to cut a hole in the centre of the paper for the clock hands to go through without ruining the photograph.

Then, I had to fit the clock hands together and fix them to the mechanism, but they were really flimsy and fiddly and there were no instuctions for how they fitted together. By the time I'd got it right the minute hand had snapped off in my fingers and I didn't even put any pressure on it. It was just a really, really flimsy little piece of plastic.

Never mind, I thought, I'll just use it without a minute hand - then I realised that the minute hand is what holds the other hands together so I had to use it with a ridiculously small minute hand (about a centimetre long after it had broken off as I had tried to fix it to the other 2 hands.

I'm really disappointed with it. In all honesty, I might as well have bought a 99p plastic clock from a cheap store and taken it apart myself and inserted my own photograph into it. It would have been just as easy and I'd have saved myself some money and frustration! the quality wasn't great anyway, it only looked like a cheap 99p plastic clock in the first place.

The mousemats look ok. One has a couple of (very small) stains on it that look like coffee but they're only small and I think the photograph should hide it. I haven't tried to print on the mousemats yet. They don't look too bad. At just £1 each (not including postage & packing) I can't expect too much, but hopefully they'll print ok. I'll let you know.

The T-shirts seem ok too. At only £1.20 each (not including VAT and postage) they seem quite good considering how inexpensive they were. Again, I haven't tried printing on them yet.

If the t-shirts and mousemats print ok then I'd probably buy them again. But not the clock.

If I want a personalised clock in future I'd buy a cheap one and take it apart and insert my own photograph.
