Thought i would post my tale of woe in here as well, might help to save somebody else from purchasing a dangerous piece of equipment:
I made the unfortunate error of purchasing a heatpress from lovecut.co.uk, not only is it dangerous in that it actualy smokes when its on, im not talking steam coming from the shirt i mean actual eye watering smoke that will set a smoke alarm off, its also very very poorly made, the digital dials both popped out when setting it up.......... they dont respond to emails and never answer the phone, im currently in the process of getting a refund, thank god i paid via credit card........ AVOID THIS COMPANY !!!!!!!!!!!!!
i stopped being cheap and bought a stahls maxx, a very nice press and worth the extra £££'s all day long.
Iam just starting up, well my business has been running about a year, but i now want to invest in my own equipment. I have a friend do my tshirts and hoodies etc as Vinyl printing. I want to invest in this equipment n also Sublimation printing (mugs, caps) i have just come across Lovecut.co.uk an their value packages. I was going to buy the tshirt combo package, the total solution one for under £1000.
But someone else advised me against it because of the cutter, so i was looking at the Sublimation Equipment...
anyone bought this?? and if so any feedback, as iv been searching for feedback for a while now on this...
Any help please would be greatfull recieved.. i was attracted to this website because i only have £1500 to spend on the equipment. and want to run out of a spare room..
If anyone has any websites in the UK that do the same sort of equipment im after please let me know..
I bought a load of equipment from Lovecut and had no problems at all. The guy there spent half a day showing me how to work everything and a very descent guy. I can't see a problem with this guy at all. Big Stores sell items that go wrong but it doesn't mean we don't shop there. Give the guy a chance.

yes target are a great company, thats where i bought our current stahls press from, the first they sent was faulty, a replacement arrived next day, thats proper service.
i wish i had read this thread before purchasing from Lovecut... paid for a faulty press on the 23rd April... still waiting for a replacement. Paid via Paypal... went through the resoloution centre and today after escalating to a full claim via Paypal i get this answer... Looks like i'm out of pocket.... i guess the one man business has plenty of experiance of how Paypal works.. The lesson i learnt... don't pay via paypal always use your creditcard....

We're unable to decide this claim in your favour at this time. PayPal's Buyer Complaint Policy applies to the delivery of goods but not to disputes about merchandise quality. What happens next
We encourage you to work directly with your seller to resolve this matter.
I had a faulty press from them too about 6 months ago, the pressure was really uneven, so I sent it back, and after a few phone calls they did refund the full amount.
Hang in there and try ringing rather than going through paypal, the guy is helpful enough but it takes a bit of time to get anything done.
Purchased a cap press from Tek Press over 2 years ago. The press was pooly made, with your typical incoherent instructions that made little sense, and was poorly worded.
The press was cheap, and when your purchasing cheap you have to expect it's not going to be of a highly professional standard...so i wasn't expecting the best! The device had a set in alarm that would ring when the temp reached it's setting, and was a typical phone tone that you would hear on the very early mobile phones....annoying was not even the word!!! I lasted about a year putting up with it, then finally cracked as i was moving into a new unit, and didn't want to have this going on all day. There was no setting to turn it off, and it would trigger every time the setting reached it's desirted amount....once you pressed your cap, the temp would decrease, then upon releasing the clamp, the temp would rise again whereby when reaching the temp setting, the sound would trigger, so this went on every time you had to pres something!!!!
I found not long ago, as similar post whereby someone had opened the press up and cut certain wires in order to stop this sound. I went at it with a pair of scissors & could barely see the wires that i had to cut, as i had to mess about with the main circuit board...but in cutting the main sound, it has now stopped the actual bleep that would occur when the timer reached it's setting when pressing the cap, so you have to count in your head the pressing time.
This isn't something you would expect to be doing on any electronic purchase, but people have to understand that this guy is importing these in from China, and obviously the factory producing them just don't have exceptional safetly standards even though they stae produced to European safetly standards...I actually found a chinese supplier offering these presses at wholesale prices, and there is a decent amount of mark up per unit, but i just wouldn't want to risk the safetly aspect of it all since at some point someone could be injured, otherwise i would definitely think about it.
The good points about the press i purchased:
Heats up to 160 degrees C in 20-30 seconds compred to my professional heatpress which takes up to 5 minutes.
Bad points:
The press has a padding on the main metal heat clamp & when heated warps in places slightly, meaning that the warping leaves an imprint on pressing...can sometimes affect the print depending on what the material.
davy m sounds like the press i have just bought from ebay . mine keeps heating up to 255 degrees and scorching everything i set the temp to 160 but it just goes up to 255 and alarm starts sounding , i hae read some instrustions on how to set /use these presses on the internet but cant understand them maybe you could explain in simole terms and maybe i have'nt bought a duffer
i've just replied via PM, but ive just seen this post, where you say it could be the same press as mine.
However, mine is a cap press...do you have a picture of the operating system or a close up and i can see if its the same buttons as the cap press...
If it is, then there are 3 buttons. 2 are up/down and one in the centre which is like an enter key!
you have to press the 'up' button as soon as you start and hold it in all the way up to the desired temp amount and press the centre enter key, which im guessing you already know how to do. One this has set, then it gives a bleep. This will then sound the timer, and you press the same 'up' key all the way until you get to the seconds you require...usually 15-20 sec. and press the centre enter key again, and you will see your temp going up until it reaches the desired limit, and the annoying alarm will go off!
However, if you are doing this, and it continues to rise beyond the temp setting then, you definitely have a faulty Press...
