That is what I have used when I am using my little trailer and awning. The cheaper zip lock bags at Dollar General but they need a few holes punched in them, if you don't they want to draw moisture in the sun.
Good luck in Florida.

What dimensions would be the best for t-shirts?

I just used the gallon size and folded so the size could be seen easily, and the design.
I'm sure the next size bigger would of been better, less Qty. in box and little more expense. Shirt would show a lot better without taking it out, just an idea!
Maybe someone else will jump in and give you their suggestions. I really like the idea of your trip to Florida sounds great.
Although your competetion out there would really a lot I bet.
Anyway, Good Luck. It would worth a try.
Linda
