I am hoping I can get some opinions on labels. I am removing the brand name tag on the shirts I am getting only. I am leaving their care instructions, rn, etc. They will sew in my labels for me if I meet a minimum. The question is do vertical or hoizontal tags look more professional. It may not even make a difference. Also, how difficult is it to sew in a label in the event I have to order shirts and can't meet the minimum. Is one type easier to sew in versus another?

To be honest sewing in a label is a bit tricky. Especially if you are sewing under the seam. I prefer to screen print labels. Almost every shirt I've ever purchased with a sewn in label has come apart at the seams where the label is sewn in. Especially American Apparel shirts.

I think if your printer is asking for a minimum they might be having the supplier sew in the label. That would be my guess.

As far as the type of label you have sewn in; I don't think it matters. I personally think the label you have sewn in would look best if it matched the RN and Care instructions. It really depends on what looks best to you.

I was considering the heat transfer labels as well since that is what I do. I just wanted to get the label with my shop name and not have to do the care instructions, rn, country of origin, etc. I was thinking it would look tacky though putting my decal behind the care instruction label. What do you think. It may actually be worth it to just add the info on the label to the decal. Cost it would not be so much of a difference. It was just I was worried about having all the info as it needs to appear. What do you do for your screen labels, copy the tag info?
