Default Tagging question

I know this has been asked before and I don't know why I can't find the post that has all this info so I'll just ask. When I am relabeling my shirts do I have to have a ca/rn ? I know I can use the one that's on the garment already right? Also do I have to invest in a ca/rn? or can I just use my legal business name SDM clothing?

Thanks

Hello Derek,

To answer your first question. No you do not need a ca/rn when relabeling a shirt and no you do not need to invest in a rn # unless you start to "manufacture" shirts.
You do however need to make sure the shirts have a care label inside (The one that came with the shirt will be fine) or you will need to reprint this info on your own labels.

I hope this information was helpful.

Michael

If you remove the original manufacturer's label from a garment and sew in your branded label (relabeling) then your label must include your RN #. This number must travel with the garment to enable anyone to trace the "lineage" of an item of apparel without knowing the name of the manufacturer or distributor. There is no cost to apply and receive an RN # but you must have a FEIN (federal employer ID #) With all items of apparel, you must also include care instructions, country of origin and fiber content.
