Hey all, so, we recently made our first video and now I'm wondering how do you got about marketing it? Any key sites I should know about or use? I've used tubemogul.com so far to try spread the video around and also facebook/twitter but want to try get more eyeballs to see it...anyone have any video successes in the past?

Tubemogul is pretty cool, but it really depends on the quality of your video. If it's funny/creative/interesting enough then it will go viral after a while. You can start by posting it on your social media profiles and tell your friends to repost it.

Ye, no doubt, getting something that can go viral is the key but creating something like that is the hard thing...or else having lots and lots of friends who would re-post it would help, hehe, sadly no dice in that regard...the video I was trying to promote has just got a timid 500 combined views or so...

..back to the drawing board for video marketing...any other suggestions on how to get views?

As taboot says, the video has to have something about it that makes people want to forward it to their friends. Otherwise it doesn't really matter how many sites it gets put on, it won't achieve the holy grail of marketing and become viral. However doing that is easier said than done. I used to work in a marketing company and even they struggled to come up with good ideas for this. Or you could just get lucky like the 'numa numa guy'.

Ye, I think luck is a factor alright insofar as that the video gets seen by a few key people who forward it on to a heap of people...
