Discuss the fun task of marketing a t-shirt shop. Where to advertise, local marketing tips, word of mouth, press releases, search engine marketing, keyword advertising, magazines, etc.
We have been in business for a year. We have done well with word of mouth sales. We do embrooidery and screen print transfers (custom of course) We have done some business with one of the elementary schools but we really need to get into the high schools but it sees impossible especially in our rural area. The business is there but how do we let them know we are in business. We sent postcards and letters to all th AD's(Athletic directors) but nothing.
I'm assuming you're looking for ideas about what to do next. If you want to get into schools, why not call the offices for the school district and ask how they choose who does their printing and embroidering. There might be a bid process, or whomever you talk to might be able to give you a list of contacts for each school. Then I would contact those people personally and see if you can set up a meeting so you can pitch your business.
You might also ask the people with whom you've done business if they would be willing to give you referrals. Joining your local Chamber of Commerce might be a good move too.
You could do a few promo shirts and send them to the school showcasing what you could do, include a letter or some business cards or throw in a coupon that says half off first order and get them to call you and go from there. Municipalities always love to save a buck, then once you have em hooked... well you have em hooked.

If your in a rural area, networking would go a long way.
Then buy a briefcase, put a few samples in it, dress nice, and pay a personal visit to the
decision makers. Introduce yourself, act professional and show them your samples. Sending
unsolicited items in the mail and making phone calls is a waste of time and unprofessional.
Personal contacts, if done professionally, should get you enough sales to keep you busy.
