Discuss the fun task of marketing a t-shirt shop. Where to advertise, link building, word of mouth, press releases, search engine marketing, keyword advertising, magazines, etc.
This is pretty much just for people who own and run their own t-shirt selling website. I want your advice on the best SEO, advertising, social marketing, and link exchange solutions. If you could tell me what worked for you, that would be great.

Find someone on Myspace who has a lot of friends. Like 1000's! Ask them if they would be interested in a free tee from your site. In exchange you have the person send an email to all of his friends asking them to go to your website. This works really well because you can usually find members who have friends that are all of a particular market segment. All it will cost you is a shirt or 2.
I agree with whitesideentp that's a good tip, plus creating your own myspace profile for your t store and adding a few friends each day.
SEO is definantly something to get better at. there are alot of super easy things you can do to increase the changes of getting targeted traffic.
Do a google search for SEO book sign up for their program for a month so you can get their book and watch as many videos as possible and you will be an SEO buff.
Also research social bookmarking sites like digg and stumbleupon

First question, before you do anything marketing related is do you know who your target audience is and where they are located. If your target audience is on MySpace that's a great place to be. If they're not, then you're wasting your time.
If you don't know to whom you want to sell and where those people are located it doesn't matter what Marketing method you try. You have to know who and where before you can get to what.
