My shirt is going to be featured on television...questions
Hello, my shirt is going to be featured on television. They sent me a release form. Is there anyone out there with experience in this and can provide me with things to look out for. I realize it is great exposure, the only thing I was thinking of asking to be included in the release agreement is a copy of the show, brand name in the credits and consent to use the network name, logo and footage/photos for my marketing purposes. What do you guys think? Thanks!

You should take the release form to a lawyer (one who does contracts) to get a real legal opinion. Even if the folks here have done this kind of thing before, it's not going to be the exact same form or the exact same situation, and sometimes when it comes to these things, one little sentence that's not quite right can be a problem later on.

Thanks Jasonda,
Everything is happening so fast with my line, that I didn't have the chance to find a lawyer to help with these situations. I've read everything from brands having to pay to have product featured, in my case, they've already filmed the episode and are just now asking for a release to show an episode where performers are wearing my t-shirts...backwards I know.

I've had t-shirts featured on TV shows. They only asked for permission one time, and I said sure
I just "went with the flow". There wasn't any money involved, and I didn't see any downsides, so I just rolled with it. I try not to make things too complicated if not necessary.
