Hello everyone at T-shirt forums. My name is Eric, Im pretty new to the buisness. I have been predominantly into graphic design for the past 4 years, and I love to use photoshop, illustrater. Ive recently decided to start making Tshirts becuase my girlfriends mother owns a baby line and a few different press` and a friend asked me to make him a few dozen shirts for a concert hes performing while down here in Florida. I was thinking along the lines of starting out making custom designs for people, and eventually sometime soon learning to silk screen and purchasing at least a 4 color to learn on and design Tshirts for schools, churches, or events that would need larger amounts with better quality. I have a free place to work out of and a good partner to help me out with it all, but I was wondering what anyone might have for tips along the line of saving money while starting out, and finding the best quality blanks for a good price. My goal is to get this going and have a good friend of mine design a website to redirect people to and bring in some steadier buisness from and build my skills from what I can already do on photoshop. I plan on making it a member based company and work on making custom designs in hopes of tuning learning while I make designs for other people, any one have advice for attracting new customers while Im starting this out?

You can find quality blanks from the major wholesale t-shirt distributors (SanMar.com, AlphaShirt.com, SSActiveWear.com, TSCApparel.com, etc). You will need your business setup and have your resale license/tax id ready.
