hey guys,

I did a couple of quick searches but couldn't find anything addressing this - what's the best way to go about getting in to magazines? Like, not really in general, but I mean to submit to the fashion editorial department for when they do little features on "cool gifts under $XX" or "fun fashion crap" or "cool gifts for your dumb uncle" or whatever - basically I want to get my stuff in front of fashion reviewers for bigger magazines. Thinking it over, it might not be a bad idea to shoot a little out of my demographic and go for stuff like Teen People as well.

Does anyone have any experience with this - really I'd just like to know who to contact. I've tried looking up information on particular magazines but I can't really tell who to submit to. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think there are a few threads on the topic ( submiting to mags/news papers) already....tips, step by step, member experiences etc.


you can run adetorials ($/$), in general they work.

for free Hype exposure, thats hard to come by. I think when your stuff is well exposed on a site, retail stores etc... and the designs are on the top of the "trend wave" or "unique" relating to current happening stuff, when exposed, there is a good chance a fashion editor may see it, get an idea and do something with it.
