Default DeviantArt, worth it?

I signed up and started posting my t-shirt designs on DeviantArt. I was shortly thereafter informed by someone that they do t-shirts as well but do not put them up because of the vast amounts of people stealing other peoples ideas.

What I want to know is, is the risk vs reward worth it DeviantArt?

I always knew that if I did put up my designs on a network like that they would be in jeopardy of being copied in some form or another but I also feel their is a good amount of reward to be reaped by free advertising.

I guess to sum up my questions...

Has anyone had some decent/serious success posting their work on DeviantArt?

Has anyone had problems with people stealing their work on DeviantArt?

Would you recommend or not recommend posting your artwork on DeviantArt?

If you do decide to keep it up there and put more, put a watermark through it. not one that makes it hard to see the design but one that would make it difficult to try to steal it.
Just a thought
