So....in thinking about the peel part...Cold peel is for glossy finishes. Hot peel is for matte. And the Quick hot peel would be immediately after lifting the press off and doesn't imprint all the ink, right? So would this be the "distressed look"?
Does anyone have any ideas on how to acheive the worn/distressed/vintage look in printing?

Usually the "distressed" look is accomplished by modifying the art, not the final print. If you search the forums for "distressed" you will find more threads on this subject.

So I am interested in Plastisol transfers and I've read over all the posts. One problem I have is I want to print big (20x28) but I don't want to spend the money for a jumbo 20x28 press.

Does anyone know if pressing a 20x28 image multiple times on a 16x16 heat press to cover the whole image should be a problem? I've heard it might work with cool peel more the hot peel but I'm unsure and I want to know if any of you guys know

How many colors? For single colors you only need a big screen and a smooth table.

do plastisol transfers have to be cured after the heat press?

also

i am looking for this effect but slightly thicker. does that require the ink to be printed thicker on the transfer?

No, the heat press cures the ink.

plastisol transfers are great! i ordered a few for light and dark shirts and the results are perfect, and they cost very little.

Do you get a waterbased (plastisol type) transfer? This is for organic T's. My client doesn't want solvent inks to be used.

Waterbased ink screenprinted transfers are possible, but they're rare and I don't know of any transfer printer that actually offers that service.
