[VINYL TRANSFERS] - Making my first custom t-shirt with cut vinyl, a vinyl cutter and a heat press
Re: Making my first custom t-shirt with cut vinyl, a vinyl cutter and a heat press
Question. How do you take a 2 color logo and cut both the base and the top. Logo was done in Corel x3 and cutting will be done on a qx-24. I am not sure how to seperate the two and send each to the cutter.

the design is the word Cardinals. Red base navy top, put on the front of a two button mesh baseball jersey. Jersey also had a sponser logo on the right sleeve and a name and number on the back. shirts sold for $17.00 each. Mark

I have a design that I need to cut 23 times. Using cut studio, I am aware that you can set multiple copies (horizontal, vertical) but is there a way to manually place them for optimal usage of space? (I cant afford to run out of material again) Mark

I know that,
I'm only a small fry here, more hobby than full time yet.
I have a friend that does Web graphics and sites for big clients (film and tv) and she couldn't figure out why this one print graphic never printed right -- till I pointed out she was thinking 72dpi for screen and not 300 dpi for print. Wow did she blush.... she had tried for two weeks to fix it.

Awesome post Rodney,
Just what I have been looking for. I have just bought that exact same Roland cutter and from the looks of it, heat press and all. A great read. Very informative.

This thread has sold me on getting into vinyl. Rough start cost for a college student, but looks like the range of use of the cutter will cover it in no time. Thank you Rodney, thank you to all the members.

I've been doing heatpress vinyl shirts for about 7 months now and I've done stickers for over 8 years... man I wish I was able to read this before I started to learn from the school of hard knocks. Great info here! Everyone new to heatpress vinyl should read this!

Hello Rodney,
Any tips on placing the artwork on the shirt that speeds it up for multiples of the same image? For example I want to put LOGO on 24 shirts how do I get them all in the same position without measuring each one individually? There has to be an easier, faster, more accurate, way.

Using alignment tools like the teesquareit or the perfect transfers tool can help you align the graphics on the t-shirt.
