Thumbs up Heat Press Basics - How to Choose the Right Heat Press to Fit Your Needs

As former retailers, we used our first heat press in 1978. Over the decades we used dozens of different types and, as suppliers, continue to use them. Our article is based on that experience.

I don't sell on Ebay so I don't know what is customary. If your seller won't fix it, I would question what I had, but the choice is yours. Try a small appliance repair shop.

Now I can further refine my search for the correct heat press for my business.

I saw some inexpensive heat presses on Ebay. Has anyone here ever purchased one. I realize they wouldn't be top of the line, but I was wondering if they were fairly functional so you could get started on a budget.

DO NOT BUY A BARGAIN PRESS FROM EBAY !!!!!!!! The heat press will be the heart of your business, I would not buy a bargain press because they are not well built. I suggest buying a name brand press that will give you years of good service. The name brand press company's have a service department if you ever need it too. i wish you good luck and please listen and buy smart, not cheap. You do get what you pay for. ..... JB

Hello to all-

We would like to purchase a heat press for relabeling purposes. Any suggestions?
Any opinions on the "Hix Hobby Lite 9X12 Swinger Heat Transfer Press"?

Thanks,

Salty Air

A friend gave me her Hobby Lite last year when she decided she didn't need it. Small but works great for what I use it for now.

Yeah what you are saying is something that I've heard repeated by many on this board.

I'm glad I read through a few posts prior to making a heat press purchase. I was about to purchase a cheap, no-name press.

I did buy on Ebay but it was a name brand. I purchased a used Stahls Hotronix. It was shipped yesterday. I tracked it through the shipper and should arrive tomorrow.

I'm ready to get my feet wet!!
