Hi all. I am getting ready to open a tee shirt shop online and thought I'd settled on SS as the fulfillment service. However, I'm a bit confused as to the pricing setup there. I'm confused becasue there are shops (i.e. Nekkid tees) whose consumer price is CHEAPER than the price that SS sets as my beginning (before I add a little for profit) price. I.e. Nekkid Tees has a shirt selling to consumer for $19.99. This exact same base shirt I loaded up into my shop and before adding anything to it my base price they quoted me $21. My shirt only had a phrase and no graphics and it was still more expensive. We called and emailed SS and they have not been helpful at all. They said all classic shops get the same base price; however, I can't see how this is true based on my personal experience as decribed above.

Does anyone have any information about this pricing situation?

The term "classic shop" refers to a free shop. Optionally, you can sign up for a premium shop (for $10 a month, which should be no big deal as long as you're making sales). Nekkid Tees is a premium shop.

Having a premium shop gives you several benefits such as better pricing and access to special deals as well as the ability to give customers discount coupons and such. Also, with a premium shop the SS branding will be removed from your store and they will allow you to use your logo on the shipping label. There's a few other benefits as well, read more in their faq.

Hope that clears it up for you, I know it's sometimes hard to find the info you need on the site!

You don't get better pricing with a premium shop over a standard one. The prices are the same.

Nekkid's items are not all spreadshirt items. His site is highly customized and he sells spreadshirt items along with his own items. Which shirt are you looking at. Can you post a link?

you might have choosen an organic or bamboo shirt..... the basic lightweights usually start at 9-12bucks a pop with graphic...... AA stuff is a bit more......

b
