Default Is a spreadshirt store worthwhile without the marketplace?

I have been contemplating opening a spreadshirt store to compliment my own site. I want to maintain the ethics of my site (brand free, sweatshop free, carbon neutral) and the only way spreadshirt tell me I can do this is to limit my designs to my own spreadshirt store and not the marketplace where I have no control over the end use. So my question to those using spreadshirt is do you see any value in a fulfillment service without the marketplace? Will I just be creating another store to market? Any advice would be great.

Cheers

i just got my stores running..... you can just put your product in the market place and not the design...so you can still have that control i believe...

only thing that i had to give up from my previous line from last year...is that the costs to print front and back are high...... so i had to just print front to keep the prices reasonable...... i think it's like 4-5 just to print the back side......

so far i like the spreadshirt setup ....... took me about 2 days to really figure it out...but you have to tag each product/design and then add it to the shop and then add it to the marketplace...so all that takes up time..... copy/paste will be your friend in that situation

Thanks for your response. I'm a bit confused though, how can you put a product in without the design...isn't the design the product?

Cheers

u can submit both the design (for others to use) and then the product (design and shirt).....

I actually think fulfillment is great on its own without a marketplace.

To me, the marketplace of any fulfillment place is just a bonus (with cafepress it's a larger bonus), but you can still be very successful without ANY marketing help from a fulfillment company.
