Default Problem w/Graphics

Good afternoon all,
I was attempting to put up several designs to do test prints on some of their products. Each of my designs is saved as .jpg file. I attempted to put one of the designs on the women's thong and bikini briefs as well as several shirts. Every time I was told the graphic was not supported , to check what types are supported. When I checked it said that the format WAS supported. I am at a loss now as to waht is going on. Has anyone else encountered this or am I just being a complete idiot. Thinking of moving from Cafepress to Spreadshirt, so new learning curve

.jpg files are the worst to deal with, as it's a compressed image file, which loses a lot of resolution. It's a good file for posting an image on the Internet, but if you want to upload a graphics file for printing, convert it to an .eps file. If you're using Illustrator, then send an .ai file directly from the program.

Is this for vinyl printing or digital transfers? Vinyl artwork must be in vector format.
