Default Different inks

Which is better Versatex Ink, or Ryonet Ink. Because I invested into a Semi-Pro Kit from Ryonet and my friends had just bought some of that versatex ink and PhotoEz Sheets for a cheaper price just wanted to know the difference, pro's and cons.

For starters Versatex is waterbased and Ryonet is plastisol, so to a certain extent you're comparing apples and oranges.

Shelf life in the tub on the shelf kind of thing?

Good question, and I'm not actually sure. I think expected shelf life is something like 12 months, but I'm not sure. I was speaking to a printer who said he's used ink way past its useby, but that sometimes that causes problems.

Waterbased ink can be re-hydrated with water (it thickens up if it's left for a while), but that's going to have its limits. I've also seen it go mouldy in a relatively short space of time (that was one brand, not sure what was going on with that).

Ah, on a shirt... if it's printed and cured properly it should outlast the shirt itself.

waterbased ink, if done right, can last a pretty long time on a shirt. a lot of high-end companies work in waterbase (Oddica, for instance), and it's pretty permanent and has a softer feel to it than plastisol. just make sure to heat set it after it dries.

Ideally they should (and can) both outlast the life of the garment.
