Im having a 2 color layer problem where the bottom ink is messing up the top layers ink
Basically what i got is a 2 color layer problem. could be the ink or could be me and Im not sure. The two layers are a red shield on the bottom with a grey crest over it. the crest is getting blurry and yellowish from the overlay. Theres a bleed around the edge I made in photoshop to get the crest to wrap the shield. Not sure if theres a better way todo this or not. the bottom layer (red shield) is bleeding and making the top layer look like crap. is there anyway on a manual 6 color press and a flash dryer to make this work.**** Also side note. the red ink is plastisol i believe and it is especially thick and goopy and i dont know why. It is as porblematic as whe i use my black ink that is ultra thin and gets stuck in the screens mesh. could that effect the shield being the bottom layer? also the red ink comes thru the t shirt onto the pallate when pressing. any suggestions or help? greatly appricated thanks

Your laying down way too much ink for one. Your second issue is it looks like you have way too much trap in the artwork. What mesh are you using for each color? Is there a reason that you are trappng that art?

Try flashing or make new screens with less trap. I bet you have a ton of ink on the bottom of the second screen, right?

ink werks- do u mean im laying too much ink for one pull? im not sure what for one means. also i dont want todo the trap but theres like always a give in my press it never lays down exactly every time. is there a way to make the macros tighter? i mean i use targets and all that but im kinda new to this two color process and how to keep it clean. the reason im trapping it so hard is so that theres no part where theres a gap in color
MBrythem- What do u mean is there a buncha ink on the second screen? do u mean the print side or the top side

thanks guys!
I mean, It looks like ink is collecting on the underside of the second screen. This is called "ink-build-up". If you flash dry the first color, the ink will stay smooth on the shirt. Plus, it will help (if not stop) the ink from mixing on the shirt.
If you press is not holding reg. than you should not do prints that have colors touching. If I was you, I'd do my best to get my press in good working order. I've had the same problem about a year ago.

I have an older HIX press 6/6 manual. I bought it used. First I get the owner's manual sent to me. Went through everything. Search the web for problems that others were having. Went back to the press took it apart, cleaned and oiled up all the parts. I realized a few bolts were stripped. Replaced them.... and so on.
If your press is not up to par, neither will your shirts be.
What kinda press you got? Do you have a flash dryer? Why does your press move/ wiggle? Find out and fix it. Don't waste time and money or produce bad shirts.
