using EZ screen print for half tone prints Hi
I've used EZ print a few times now (using standard sheets/rolls) and have been pretty happy with the results. I am fairly new to screen printing and only do small runs, so found this stuff a lot quicker, easier and less messy than making proper screens with emulsion etc.
Up until now all the artwork ive used in conjunction with ez screen sheets have been single solid colour designs, but I just wondered if it's possible to create half tones using this stuff? And if so would I need to draw/trace the artwork or just print it onto acetate?
I only have standard sheets rather than the high res ones as I'd heard they (high res) were harder to use, but having looked at the site it seems high res sheets may be better for creating halftones..although it doesnt make it all that clear (and im sure ive read elsewhere that ez screen should only be used for solid colour designs). I'd rather stick with the standard sheets if possible as I've just ordered some from the us (as its unavailable in the uk) and spent a fortune on postage
Also, can anyone recommend any inks that can be used with ez screen and heat set with just a household iron? I've so far used speedball but again it's quite pricey and no easy to get hold of over here
Any suggestions welcome on either of the above
