Ok I have got addicted to heat pressing my shirts for 5 seconds at 330 AFTER I screen printed them. Am I crazy or do others do that? I love the feel even on dark shirts you cannot even feel the ink. It just makes it as smooth as the shirt and makes if feel like a plastisol transfer. Let me know if I am the only one that does this.

If you print correctly you should be able to achieve a smooth print without heat pressing it. But I have heard some others doing this, but it was to actually cure the ink.
Re: Do you heat press you shirt after printing it.
I usually get a smooth feel just by screen printing but I may try this just to see the difference. I normally print large volume and I definitely couldn't do this every time as it would be very time consuming but I may just try it out on a few shirts today.

I totally understand and I dont do it for large volume orders. I feel like my print is pretty smooth, but I feel like I can close my eyes and cannot feel where the ink starts and stops when I press.

i've heard of people running a high flash and then hitting a blank coated screen ( with no ink in it ) and getting the same effect on press. It is a nice hand to have on shirts. Ive done it to many jobs that had a cat tongue feel to smooth them out.
