I think the issue could be that you are using a heat press and not a flash unit.
I have a flash unit and I flash to 220 and cure to 320 like thutch15 had mentioned and I measure it with my temp gun, but it ends up being about 35 - 45 seconds to cure. And that is about 2 - 3 inches over the shirts.
If I shoot the heat temp gun directly at the heating element, its at like 550 degrees.
You are setting the heat press to 325 and going for times that you have read about on here im guessing. If you use the heat press and you can turn it up higher, do so. But either way, invest in the heat temp gun. They are not expensive considering what it can save you.
Then, set your heat press temp, and begin to cure or flash your shirts and as you do, measure the temp of the ink on the shirt with the gun. The flash should reach 220 or so and the cure should reach 325.
hope that helps.
