Rolls never get loaded perfectly straight, therefore at some point they hit something in the printer and get distorted. Sheets suffer from the same problem but start afresh each time.
It's a 'feature' of the 3000, the 4000 has a built-in roll feed and is a lot better.

What version of Photoshop are you running? Sometimes the older printers don't like to play nice with the new versions of the software, especially when dealing with a calculated object like a stroke.

Dave's right, the rolls ain't gonna work too good on the 3000. I used to try and run rolls on mine's. If you give it some slack it'll do better, but you might need to run sheets.

ya, i learned that i need to give it enough slack for the size of the print. even with sheets when i add a stroke to the artwork everything looks good in the print menu, but as soon as it is done printing it seems to have streched about 1/4" but the print itself is not distorted. kinda losing my mind on this been having to go over everything with a sharpie to get the stroke. Might be like what aaron was saying about the printer and software not getting along.

Why and when do you add a stroke in photoshop? Is it for trapping?
I'm just trying to figure out why your films aren't lining up.

Have you tried converting the layer style to layers? May help, may not.

In the menu go: layer-layer style-create layers. Then flatten the image and see if it prints right.

See to me this sounds more like a software issue, not a hardware issue. Give Juan Gonzales a call at 480-621-6857 as he is an expert in this stuff. Good luck with it!
