Default RGB/CMYK on screen to Pantone for shirt: #FFAC00

I'd like to get a close match for #FFAC00 a yellow gold color. Photoshop suggests 1235 C, Illustrator suggests 136 C, and this tool suggests several others RGB to PANTONE with 137 C the closest. Of all of these 137 looks the closest on screen, but from what I've read this is not the right way to match.

This will be screenprinted to a black shirt with a white under layer. Can anyone with experience suggest a close match -- not sure which suggestion to trust.

Get a Pantone swatch book, you will need one. It's basically a series of colour samples with accurate colours.
